Gone Fishin'

This one is a hard one. We've all seen a sign saying “Gone Fishin'”, but where and when did the phrase originate?

I'm not a fan of your typical catch and release sport fishing, in light of more recent science on the issue, but the phrase still captures something with value to many, even without the actual fishing.

He Thrusts His Fists Against The Posts

He thrusts his fists against the posts,
And still insists he sees the ghosts.

Very short written works are interesting. People can remember them without really trying, they can have a powerful effect, and they can be written totally by accident.

Did someone blow up a train with their butt?

TL;DR: I have no idea!

(Extremely) amateur history time! This Train facts post has been going around, claiming that in 1825, the fireman aboard the Best Friend caused an explosion by
sitting on a relief valve, because the sound annoyed him.
